The Connecticut Section PGA Junior Golf Association was established in 1998 to serve and develop future golfers by introducing a game of golf. The junior golf membership is open to juniors between the ages of 10-18 who reside within the Connecticut Section PGA boundaries (includes Western Massachusetts, excludes lower Fairfield County). The section’s Junior Golf Committtee governs the Junior Golf Association. The goals of the association are to develop, enhance, and promote junior golf opportunities within the region and also focus on increasing the playing opportunities for junior golfers. It provides structure and support for junior members. The section coordinates with the allied golf associations and other junior golf developmental activities and serves as a centralized communications outlet. The Junior Golf Program of the section is made possible through an annual grant from the Connecticut Section PGA Golf Foundation.

The JGA Class of 2012 Makes College Golf Plans

Following high school, many JGA Members continue playing golf in different ways where some have the opportunity to represent their college or university playing on the golf team. As we round out 2011, and make way for 2012, high school seniors in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts solidify their choice for higher education which includes further development in the game of golf.
