PGA Member Programs

Connecticut Section PGA

The Connecticut Section conducts numerous programs that benefit its membership and golf community, as well as enhancing the standing of the golf professional. The section's Constitution & Bylaws govern all professional activity.

 

These include the Spring and Fall meetings, professional development & volunteering seminars and forums, fundraising, player development initiatives, employment services, and the Special Awards and Hall of Fame programs.

 

PGA Professionals are active in many of these initiative and members are required to obtain 54 Membership Service Requirement (MSR) credits each recertification period.

 

The Assistants' Association is a sub group of the membership that consist of PGA Apprentices aspiring to become Class A members of The PGA and PGA Members who are assistant professionals.

 

Annually, children and grandchildren, who are currently high school seniors or in college, of section PGA Members have the opportunity to apply for PGA Scholarship funding. Please see below.

 

2013 PGA Member Directory

The 2013 Member Directory will be distributed on March 25, 2013, at the Spring PGA Membership Meeting.


This year's publication includes General Information, Sponsors and Sales Representatives, Member Roster, and Golf Facilities.

The remaining sections can be found on this site as follows: Constitution & Bylaws under Member Programs and Tournament Rules & Regulations under Tournaments.

Scholarships

The PGA of America Scholarship Program is designed to award forty-one $2,500 scholarships (one per section) and some special scholarships depending upon the availability of funds and at the discretion of the PGA Scholarship Committee. Applicants must be children, grandchildren, stepchildren and adopted children of a PGA member (living or deceased). 

Graduate students and relatives of F Members are not eligible. To receive a National Scholarship the student must have a grade point average of at least 3.0. Applications are available only on line at
www.pgalinks.com and are due no later than March 1 of each year. 

Applicants must also mail a sealed copy of a current year first semester transcript to PGA National. 

Students should not apply on-line until the current transcript has been received.
