Players of the Year, Points Standings, Money Standings
The section Player of the Year competition is a Player Performance Points standing that is tracked during the Tournament Season for PGA Members of the Connecticut Section. There are two divisions: (1) All PGA Members and (2) Senior Only (age 50+) PGA Members. Official Money standing records are also tracked for both divisions, but does not affect the Player of the Year standings. The Points rankings are used to determine who earns berths on the PGA Team for the annual Julius Boros Challenge Cup Matches.
The Section PGA Player of the Year is identified as the PGA Professional (Member) who earns the highest Points total. The Section Player of the Year's name is engraved on The Bob Shea Trophy.
