Kevin Giancola of Golf Quest Family Sports won the Connecticut Section PGA Player of the Year title for the fifth time in 2010. He previously won the Bob Shea Award as PGA Player of the Year in the Connecticut Section in 2008, 2005, 2004, and 2003. Giancola won his third Connecticut PGA Championship title in 2010 at Lyman Orchards.
The Player of the Year award began in 1970 and Dick Stranahan won the first two titles. In the 1980's the Player of the Year award was named after Bob Shea who served as the section executive director from 1980-1993.
