Marshall Takes Spring PGA Stroke Play Title and Travelers Championship Exemption

Wins in Playoff Against Connecticut PGA Professional Champion, D'Amario

WALLINGFORD, Conn. (May 8, 2012) – Rainy and windy conditions made for a challenging Spring PGA Stroke Play today at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn. Ian Marshall of Watertown Golf Club took home first place honors and the exemption to the June 21-24, Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands, all after a playoff with Connecticut PGA Professional Champion, Adam D’Amario of Indian Hill Country Club. Both PGA Members fired a two round total of 149 to take the Championship in to extra holes.

The par 5, 18th was the first playoff hole where Marshall was able to find the green in three while D’Amario’s second shot took him out of position into the left rough. D’Amario made his way to the green in four and finished with a bogey. Marshall then two-putted for the par and the win.
