Road to the Assistant Championship
The 49th Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship will be hosted by Bull's Bridge Golf Club, September 6-7, 2011. Adam Rainaud is the defending champion, having won last year at Lake of Isles. Rainaud finished tied for third at national's Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship. The winner will be presented with the Joe Lynch Trophy. Rick Leal and Al Fuchs are the only PGA Professionals to have won back-to-back times in PGA Assistant Championship history. Eligibility for this championship includes all PGA Registered Apprentices and PGA Class A-8 members. If the tournament champion is a section Pre-Apprentice or an ineligible player, the next best place finisher (eligible) will represent the section at the national event. Competitors must register through the PGA of America by July 20, 2011 at 5:00 PM. Please call 1 (800) 474-2776 to register.
