Tournament Program - Individual PGA Member Championship
The Road to the PGA Championship Starts Here
The Connecticut Section PGA Professional Championship is often confused with the Connecticut PGA Championship. The Section PGA Professional Championship, more commonly referred as the SPC, began 15 years ago by The PGA of America as the standard section PGA Member championship for all 41 sections. So, PGA Professionals will advance from the SPC's to the PGA Professional National Championship. And from there, the low 25 finishes will get the opportunity to play in the PGA Championship alongside the top professional golfers in the world on the stage with the strongest field in golf for any major championship.
The 15th Connecticut Section PGA Professional Championship will be held at Shennecossett Golf Course August 22-23, 2011.The defending champion is Brian Keiser. Keiser shot a two-day total of three-under-par 137 at Wintonbury Hills Golf Course. From 1988-1995 the event was known as the Club Professional Championship. John Paesani has won the event six times, the most when combining the championship's history. The number of section PGA Professionals advancing to the 2012 PGA Professional National Championship will be determined by the number of section entrants. Competitors must register through the PGA of America by July 6, 2011 at 5:00 PM. Please call 1 (800) 474-2776 to register.
