The Del Kinney Pro-Pro Championship will be held Monday, October 31, 2011 at Ellington Ridge Country Club, Ellington, Conn.PGA Professionals Ian Marshall and Fran Hoxie were victorious last year at TPC River Highlands. This event is named after Del Kinney, Sr., a PGA Professional who died tragically in a 1953 auto accident. Del Kinney, Jr. and his sisters donated a fund to the section to associate their father’s name to this championship, and annually contribute prizes for the winning team. The winning team members have their names engraved on the Del Kinney Memorial Trophy. Doug Dalziel has been on the winning side of the most Del Kinney Pro-Pro Championships in Section history, with five victories. Dalziel won three times with Ray Howell from 1977-1979 and twice with Al Fuchs in 1982 and 1983. Teams consist of two section-affiliated PGA Members or, one section-affiliated PGA Member and one eligibly employed PGA Registered Apprentice. Top 30 player performance point leaders as of the deadline may not be on the same team.
