Hosted by Shennecossett Golf Course and the Town of Groton
The 29th Connecticut Senior Open will be hosted by Shennecossett Golf Course July 11-12, 2011. The Town of Groton celebrated its course Centennial during the 1998 Connecticut Senior Open when the Donald Ross design added and opened its three new holes along the Thames River and former site of the famous Griswold Hotel. In that same year, the event format changed from an 18-hole to a 36-hole event and since then Shennecossett has hosted the Connecticut Senior Open. Defending champion, David Szewczul has been the low amateur five times, the most in the event's history.
